Just in case anyone was wondering, chickens eat meat. Luthien and I were just in the back yard watching Tigerlily, our oldest gentlest hen, tear bits off a baby bird’s head, then swallow the thing whole, beak and all. To her credit, I think it was found food, and that she did not commit the murder herself.
